Purdue Extension – Forestry & Natural Resources (FNR) connects people, science and natural resources to improve lives across Indiana and beyond. As part of Purdue University’s land-grant mission, we deliver research-based education, practical tools and personalized support to help individuals, communities and professionals make informed decisions about forests, wildlife, aquatic habitats and other natural ecosystems. Our team of Extension specialists are dedicated to translating cutting-edge research into real-world solutions.

As part of Purdue Extension, we deliver practical, research-based information that enhances lives and livelihoods by promoting sustainable practices, fostering economic growth and empowering the next generation.

FNR is characterized by broad scholarly activities across diverse disciplines and mission areas. Our integrative activities are organized across three cross-cutting themes: Conservation Science, Ecological Sensing and Analytics, and Environmental One Health. Our Extension activities also align with these themes.

We provide trusted, science-based information and hands-on support to a wide range of audiences, including: private woodland owners; natural resource professionals; farmers and land managers; community leaders and planners; youth; educators; and lifelong learners.
